Bob Dylan has won the Nobel prize for literature. The prize was based on Dylan's songs and not on a particular book. The committee awarded him the award “for having created new poetic expressions within the great American song tradition.” Along with the title and nice little metal, Mr. Dylan also receives a cash award of 8 million Swedish kronor (just shy of a million US bucks).
